Shuyang Wang
Shuyang Wang is currently a fourth year Ph.D. student in the Educational Administration and Policy Program at Mary Frances Early College of Education at University of Georgia. Her research interests center on equity issues in early childhood care and education. More specifically, she has examined racial segregation, funding inequities in pre-K, as well as equity issues in the early childhood care and education workforce. Through her work in the DEEP research group, she engages in various research projects in the areas of QuantCrit and politics of education policymaking.
Shuyang is the recipient of College Research Scholar Award and has also won the 2022 Faculty Scholar Award from her department. She earned her Master of Education degree from Vanderbilt University in 2018, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Furman University in 2016. Before starting her Ph.D. program at UGA, she worked as the Outcomes Measurement Manager at Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta, where she gained valuable work experience in measurement, program evaluation, and non-profit management.
In her time outside of work and school, she enjoys many outdoor activities such as running, cycling, and snowboarding. Shuyang lives with her two dogs, Dudu and Momo.
